Welcome to The Gables Medical Group

We have started to carry out more routine face to face appointments at the surgery. We still ask that you do not come to the surgery unless a GP or Nurse has specifically asked you to do so. When attending the surgery you will need to ring the intercom situated next to the main doors and speak to a member of reception.

When buzzing the intercom please bear in mind that our phones lines are still extremely busy and if you are not attended to straight away it may mean that all the receptionists are busy on the phones. They will attend to you as soon as they can.

As before we ask that you do not attend the surgery if you have any symptoms of coronavirus or someone you live with has/or has symptoms of coronavirus. If you have an appointment booked but start to experience coronavirus type symptoms we ask that you cancel and rearrange your appointment.

If a GP/Nurse has asked you to attend the surgery, you will:

  • Need to come to the main surgery doors and buzz the intercom.
  • A member of staff will attend to you, they will ask you the relevant screening questions and who you are seeing and then buzz you through, or attend to you at the door if you do not have an appointment.
  • When ringing the intercom please be patient as staff maybe dealing with other enquiries on the telephones.

It is a requirement for patients to wear a face covering when entering the surgery.  If you do have an appointment we would be grateful if you could come with your face covering on – covering your nose, mouth and chin.  This can be in the form of a mask, scarf or handkerchief of any sort of fabric. Public Health England on Twitter: "Consider covering your mouth ...

We still ask that you continue to order your medication through the prescription line and nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription items from.

THESE MEASURES ARE FOR EVERYONE’S PROTECTION.

Further information and updates regarding appointments and prescriptions and general coronavirus information can be found in the tab on the right.

Again, we would like to thank you for your understanding during this time.

Please see the priority list below! -

Please can we remind all patients that we will contact you when it's your turn for the covid vaccination. We have not forgotten you nor can we bump you up the priority list. We need to keep our telephone lines free for all normal services to operate efficiently.

The reception team are inundated with covid vaccine calls. We are currently booking cohort 6 and are prioritising the oldest patients first. We have no control over how many vaccines we receive or when they are delivered. Please be patient and respect the reception team who are trying to help you.
