In further response to the Coronavirus outbreak the surgery will remain CLOSED & will be doing telephone triage ONLY from Monday 6th April.

There will be NO routine GP appointments held at the surgery until further notice.

Appointments with the Practice Nurses will be on the telephone and will booked in advance.



If a GP has asked you to attend the surgery, you will:

  • Need to ring reception to advise them that you have arrived, and
  • Wait in your car until you are seen.


Prescription Request Slips

Prescription request slips will NOT be taken in at the surgery until further notice. You will need to order medication via the telephone or online if you have access.

Ordering Medication via telephone.

Gables Patients: - Please telephone 01670 829889 or the dedication prescription line on 01670 823000. Your order will be processed in the usual way and sent to a chemist for you to collect.

Cambois Patients - Please telephone the Cambois surgery on 01670 823917 between 9am – 11:30am.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to order more than one month’s medication at a time.

The Gables Medical Group serves the whole of Bedlington as well as its surrounding area, and has a branch surgery at Cambois. The practice “boundary” is illustrated on our Practice booklet.  Enquiries relating to this should be directed to the Practice Manager.

Our team includes GPs, Practice Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Healthcare Assistants, admin staff and Practice Manager, as well as allied staff such as Health Visitors, District Nurses, Podiatrist and Midwife.

We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for children, pregnant women, diabetes and asthma sufferers, and for patients needing specific minor surgery. We also offer an on-site dispensing service at our branch surgery at Cambois.


Each of our surgeries is suitable for disabled access, and disabled parking spaces are available in our car park.

Disabled toilets for patients are also provided. If you have any problems accessing a service please inform a member of staff and we will do all we can to improve the situation.
