Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • 'Travelling with medication' letter - please see information below.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Travelling with Medication

It is the patients responsibility to establish the rules of their destination, airline and any country they may be travelling through. You need to remember both prescribed and over the counter medication. In some countries items such as nasal decongestant inhalers can be banned.

More information regarding this can be found at:

www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/medicines/can-i-take-my-medicine-abroad

The GP can provide a 'Travelling with medication' letter however, as this is not part of the NHS services provided the practice does charge a fee of £15 per letter.

If you require a letter you can complete a request form at reception or download the form below, complete it and return it to the surgery.
